周辺の観光名所
正宮の役割を担うキョンボックン(景福宮)から東側に位置しているチャンドックン(昌徳宮)は、東殿とも呼ばれていました。約270年間、朝鮮王朝期の法宮(国王が居住し、国事を行っていた宮)として使われただけでなく、朝鮮王朝時代の宮殿の中で国王達が最も長く居住していた宮殿でもあります。他の宮殿に比べて本来の姿がしっかりと保存されている昌徳宮は、人為的な作業を大幅に排除して、周辺の地形や自然と調和するように建築されている事が分かります。特にチャンドックン(昌徳宮)にある庭園は、韓国唯一の宮廷庭園として有名です。その価値は世界的な評価も受け、1997年にはユネスコ世界文化遺産として登録されました。また、チャンドックン(昌徳宮)の入口に復元された内医院も見どころです。さらに、チャンドックン(昌徳宮)はチャンギョングン(昌慶宮)にも近いので、両スポットを同時に観覧するのもおすすすめです。
